Hurt on the job

You were hurt at work. Here is the order to do things in.

A sudden fall and a slow strain both count. What matters is that the work caused the injury or made it worse.

Most claims go wrong in the first few days: a report that left something out, a visit to the wrong doctor, a deadline nobody mentioned. We help you avoid all three.

In the first days

  • Tell your employer in writing, and keep a copy

  • Get care, and say it's work-related at every visit

  • File the claim before the deadline; ask us what yours is

What we take off your plate

  • The report

We check what your employer's report says against what happened, and correct what is missing.

  • The doctor

We ask the insurer to approve treatment, and push when a referral or a test is held up.

  • The claim

We file with the right agency on time, and keep every notice and date in one place.

Questions we hear about this

Does it count if I was hurt slowly, not in one accident?

Yes. Repetitive strain, back injuries and hearing loss from years on the job can be claims too. A doctor's note tying them to your work matters most.

Should I give the insurer a recorded statement?

You can ask to speak with us first. A casual answer can be read very differently later.

What if my employer doesn't carry coverage?

Some employers don't. You may have other ways to be paid. Call us before you assume there is nothing.

Not sure where you are in the process?

Tell us what happened. We will say what to do next, even if it is not hiring us.
